Have you ever thought to yourself…’If I only had more traffic I would make more sales!’ Well if you did (and I‘m sure you have), that would make you like most everyone that has a business, online or bricks and mortar. I used to think that way also; until I got my first website…and nobody came!
My name is James Williams and I’m not going to tell you a long sob story about me being down on my luck and then magically discovering a way to get traffic to my site, because there’s nothing ‘magical’ about getting traffic. In fact, I don’t even concern myself anymore about getting traffic to my site. Let me tell you why.
As both a programmer and marketer I know that it can be a waste of time and money to do what the ‘guru’s’ tell you to do to get traffic to your website. Google? I don’t think so. Even if you build your web page optimized for SEO (Search Engine Optimization) it will be 3-4 months maximum before you lose your ranking. Pay per click? Google Adwords? Ask yourself can you outspend a large corporation? I don’t think so. Does that mean you shouldn’t advertise? Of course not…you just have to be smarter. What you need is a Traffic Tsunami…and in 2002 that is exactly what I created.

For me, I was Angry. Sad. Discouraged. Then..Apathetic. I can admit freely I was bothered by the whole process. Oh well I said, because my business was a bricks and mortars business and I had fortune 500 clients to fall back on, and that’s what I did.
I learned a lot in the world of offline marketing from the Big Boys. The ones that spend millions of dollars on advertising monthly. One of the consistent problems I recognized was that when it came to getting traffic online, neither the big companies or small companies got it. Let me explain…
Most Big Companies still prefer to spend their money on traditional advertising (print, radio, tv) to build traffic and get customers…while most small companies prefer to spend their advertising revenue online to generate traffic...now here’s the part that’s going to bake your noodle…Both are Right!
